Who may qualify?
Volkswagen defines qualifying groups under its national program. Not every veteran or family member automatically qualifies.
Military service members
- Qualified active-duty U.S. military personnel
- U.S. military veterans within 24 months of active duty
- U.S. military retirees with 20 or more years of service
First responders
- Police officers, sheriffs and deputies
- Correctional officers and state troopers
- Federal law enforcement officers
- Firefighters
- EMTs and paramedics
- 911 dispatchers and operators
Household family members
Qualifying family members residing in the same household as an eligible military member, veteran, retiree or first responder may also receive the bonus.
Proof of shared residency is required where applicable.
How to claim your bonus
1. Find your Volkswagen
Explore qualifying new, unused Volkswagen models. The Golf R is excluded.
2. Gather eligibility documents

How much is the Volkswagen Military & First Responders Bonus?
The current national bonus is $500 on qualifying new, unused Volkswagen vehicles, subject to eligibility and program terms.
Do all veterans qualify?
No. Under the current national program, qualifying U.S. military veterans must be within 24 months of active duty. Qualified military retirees must have served 20 or more years.
Can a family member use the bonus?
Yes, qualifying family members living in the same household as an eligible participant may qualify. Proof of household residency is required.
Which first responders are included?
Eligible roles include police officers, sheriffs and deputies, correctional officers, state troopers, federal law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics and 911 dispatchers or operators.
Is the Golf R eligible?
No. Volkswagen expressly excludes the Golf R from this national bonus.
Can the bonus be redeemed for cash?
No. It is applied toward an eligible lease or finance contract and cannot be redeemed for cash.
When does the current offer end?
The published national program runs from January 6, 2026 through January 4, 2027.

Proof of military/first responder eligibility and residency of family household member (if applicable) required. Bonus applied toward lease or finance contract and is not redeemable for cash. Bonus cannot be redeemed on Fleet and Dealership Sale vehicles. One bonus per VIN. Eligible customers may receive this bonus on up to two Volkswagen vehicles per year.
